  • There is a free parking lot at the back of the building off Central Street. Please park in a spot marked visitor, but if none are available, you may park in a numbered spot. Use this entrance and take the elevator to the 4th floor.

    Paid on street parking is also available.

  • Depending on your insurance company, you may need a referral to be seen. If you are unsure, we recommend that you call the number on your insurance card to find out if a referral is required by your plan.

  • All patients must have a credit card on file to be seen. We reserve the right to cancel your appointment if you decline to keep a credit card on file. This information is encrypted and stored securely online with your permission. Any remaining balance owed by you will be charged to your card 120 days from the date of your appointment after billing statements have been sent to your provided email address and/or billing address.

  • We know that schedules and circumstances change. If you need to reschedule your appointment, kindly provide at least 24-hours notice to avoid being charged a missed appointment fee.

  • There is a $100 no show fee if you miss a medical appointment or do not provide at least 24-hour notice when canceling/rescheduling an appointment. The fee is $250 for a missed surgery appointment and $150 for a missed cosmetic appointment. These have been implemented to reduce no-shows and ensure that we can provide dermatology access to as many patients as possible. If you believe there has been an error, please call to speak with us as soon as possible.

    These must be paid in full to reschedule any future appointments.

  • You MUST arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. We respect everyone’s time and try to run clinic on time whenever possible. If you are late for your appointment we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment.

  • Please bring your driver’s license AND insurance card with you to each visit. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment if we cannot verify your identification or insurance coverage.

  • Modern Dermatology strives for a paperless experience. We have adopted an IPAD-based check-in process. To that end, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete the check-in process.

  • The cost of an office visit depends on your insurance plan, deductible status, complexity of conditions addressed, and any procedures performed. We strive to be as transparent as possible and are happy to provide a good faith estimate at your request.

  • Your copay is due at the time of your visit.

    In addition, if you have not yet met your deductible, you are responsible for the full cost of your visit. We collect your portion at the time of your visit and submit a claim to your insurance company so your payment counts towards your deductible. If there are any insurance adjustments, you will receive a statement or refund.

  • We accept most commercial insurances and Medicare. We do NOT accept Masshealth. We are part of the Southcoast Health Network, but are independently operated.

  • There is a non-refundable $125 cosmetic consultation fee. A cosmetic consultation that is no-showed or same-day cancelled will be forfeited.

  • We offer payment plans to help our patients pay outstanding balances.

  • We require all patients to pay outstanding balances at time of their appointment to be seen or have a payment plan in place.

  • Past due accounts are subject to collection proceedings. After 120 days from the date of your appointment we will attempt to run a card on file. If we are unable to run the card on file then we will send an additional statement. We have the right for your account to be turned over to our collection agency and you will be responsible for all collection and fees that the practice incurs as a result.
